Hyderabad: A special judge for POCSO cases in Hyderabad sentenced a 42-year-old man from Hussaini Alam to life imprisonment for raping his 12-year-old daughter in May 2022. Judge T Anitha imposed a fine of ₹5,000. The court awarded ₹5 lakh compensation to the survivor, who lives in a nursing home. Despite receiving no support from the family, the girl told the court how the accused raped her twice at home in May 2022 – once while she was sleeping. The incident took place when other family members were sleeping. The accused threatened her not to tell the family members. tnn
