New Age | Man killed in road accident in Dhaka

An elderly man was killed in a road accident on the Hanif flyover near Tikatuli in the capital on Friday.

The identity of the approximately 60-year-old deceased could not initially be determined.

According to residents, the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when the man was hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing the street and was injured.

They later took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead at around 3:00 p.m.

Pedestrian Kaushik Ahmed, who took the deceased to the hospital, said he saw the old man lying on the side of the road.

“We rescued him and took him to the emergency room of DMCH where he was pronounced dead,” he said.

DMCH outpost in-charge Md Bachchu Mia said the body was kept in the hospital morgue.
