Bucyrus man injured in car crash on 19th in Ohio

POLK TOWNSHIP – A Bucyrus man was injured Tuesday in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Ohio 19 west of the intersection of Ohio 19 and Iberia Road.

The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m., according to a news release from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. Members of the Galion Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call and found a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck lying on its side in the southeast lane of Ohio 19.

The vehicle was driven by 46-year-old Adam C. Ray of Bucyrus. According to the press release, Ray was extricated from the truck using rescue shears.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Ray was traveling northwest on Ohio 19 when his pickup truck left the south side of the road and struck a mailbox, a sign and a guardrail before rolling over several times and coming to rest on its side in the roadway.

Ray was taken to Galion Community Hospital and later to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident, which remains under investigation.
