Nine people arrested after major brawl on Block Island Ferry | News

The fight, in which 20 to 30 people were involved, occurred at 8:12 p.m.

Officer Brandon Gagnon was first on the scene at 304 Great Island Road and immediately called for backup when he observed the fight.

“As officers were making arrests, numerous individuals began to intervene and were warned to step back or they would be arrested for obstruction,” Corrigan said.

Seven people were arrested at the scene, two were taken to local hospitals for injuries sustained during the brawl. The people arrested and their charges are as follows:

• Manuel Pina, 42, of Brockton, Massachusetts: aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstructing an officer in the execution of his duty, disorderly conduct.
• Gilda Antunes, 28, of Brockton, Massachusetts: obstructing an officer in the execution of his duty.
• Elsa Lopes, 31, of Brockton, Massachusetts: simple assault, resisting arrest, obstructing an officer in the execution of his duty, disorderly conduct.
• Henry Lopes Jr., 32, of Providence: disorderly conduct.
• Victor Manuel Gomes Depina, 39, of Brockton, Massachusetts: obstructing an officer in the execution of his duty, disorderly conduct.
• Michael Gomes Lopes, 36, of Brockton, Massachusetts: resisting arrest, disorderly conduct.
• A 16-year-old youth: simple bodily harm, disturbing the peace.
• On Monday, two more people involved in the fight turned themselves in.
• James Ronald Cole Jr., 54, of Westerly, and Jordan Leighty, 41, of Richmond, were arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and arraigned in District Court.
