Bowie County, Texas man charged with continued sexual abuse of a child under 14

WAKE VILLAGE, Texas – A Bowie County man has been charged with continued sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. The abuse is said to have spanned several years.

Jerry Lynn Jordan, 53, of Wake Village, allegedly began abusing the girl when she was 8 years old at a residence in Texarkana, Arkansas, according to an affidavit.

When the girl’s family moved to Wake Village in 2021, the sexual abuse continued, according to the affidavit. Jordan allegedly sexually abused the girl in bathrooms, a closet and the shower.

Jordan was arrested on June 9 and remains in custody. Bail was set at $150,000, jail records show. He was charged on June 14.

If convicted of repeated sexual abuse of a child under 14, the defendant faces 25 to 99 years or life in prison. Defendants convicted of this charge are not eligible for parole for the sentence imposed.

The case has been assigned to 5th District Judge Bill Miller. Court records show Jordan does not have an attorney.
