Severe weather warning for Pittsburgh: Thunderstorm warnings issued

Tuesday’s weather will be nearly identical to Monday’s, with a maximum heat index of 35 to 40 degrees around noon. Another round of isolated storms will move in after 3 p.m., bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The threat of severe weather should subside by sunset.>> WHERE TO FIND COOLING CENTERS? The heat continues Tuesday after heat late in the day Monday led to a storm that knocked out power for thousands of people in the Pittsburgh area.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties until 3:45 p.m.

The weather on Tuesday will be almost identical to that of Monday, with a maximum heat index between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius around midday.

After 3 p.m., another round of isolated storms will occur, bringing heavy rain and strong winds.

The risk of severe weather is likely to subside after sunset.

A heat warning remains in effect for the rest of the week. Daily maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 35 degrees Celsius until Saturday.

The region is experiencing a period of high temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius and more. Pittsburgh has not been this hot since September 2018.

Record daily temperatures will be reached on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (assuming these days remain dry).

The heat will slowly subside over the weekend. Showers are possible on Sunday. At the beginning of next week, temperatures will “drop” again to over 27 degrees.
