China has announced an anti-dumping investigation against certain pork products imported from the European Union.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the products examined include fresh, cold and frozen pork, pork offal, pork fat excluding lean meat, and pork intestines, bladders and stomachs.

The investigation period for import dumping is between January 1 and December 31 last year, while the period for assessing industrial damage covers four years, from the first day of 2020 to the last day of 2023, the ministry said.

The investigation, which begins on Monday, will not last longer than a year but could be extended by a further six months, it said.
