20-year-old woman dies in crash in rural Tazewell County

TAZEWELL COUNTY – A 20-year-old woman died in a car accident in rural Tazewell County Wednesday morning.

Authorities responded to US Rt. 24 and Grosenbach Road. Crossing around 5am

Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley said the woman died at the scene two and a half hours later.

The woman’s name is being withheld pending notification of her family.

Officials are planning an autopsy for Wednesday afternoon.

The accident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
