Driver arrested in Brooklyn, 63-year-old man killed while crossing street: NYPD

BROOKLYN, NY — A Brooklyn driver was arrested and charged after fatally striking a 63-year-old pedestrian as he crossed the street nearly two weeks ago, police said.

Anthony John of East New York, driving a Honda CRV, killed 63-year-old William Rosario as he crossed New Lots Avenue in Brownsville at about 10:06 p.m. on June 1, police said.

John was driving without a license and faces charges of failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care, police said.

Emergency services took the 63-year-old pedestrian to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
