Red Dead Redemption 2 player follows Night Folk to uncover their secret

Be careful after dark…

The Night People are undoubtedly one of the most disturbing new additions to Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2.

These voodoo killers lurk in the shadows of Bayou Nwa and Bluewater Marsh. They are not exactly friendly, and you would be forgiven for running as far away as humanly possible. Perhaps this is my way of justifying my actions.

The bravest among us, however, have beaten the night people at their own game and are on the trail of these elusive creatures to find out what true secrets they hide.

If you see one of the Night People, chances are he will soon have your plundered body slung over one of his shoulders.

You may stumble upon them with corpses already in tow.

For this reason, I can’t recommend hanging out at any of the above locations at sunset, but Reddit user SmilingFlounder decided to defy all logic and made an interesting discovery in the process.

Check out some of our most popular Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

“I remember someone posted here about an encounter with the Night Folk where they threw a body into the swamp and how much they wished they had followed them instead of killing them,” the user began.

“I’m happy to report that I discovered this encounter by chance right as I was logging in, and there were definitely oddities that followed. I followed them for a while and was surprised that they weren’t attacking passersby, nor were passersby attacking them. I was even more surprised when I realized where they were going.”

They continued: “I followed them all the way from Lakay through the streets of Saint Dennis. They made no contact with anyone and no one made contact with them. They had gotten as far as the domino players when the one with the torch saw me and immediately attacked.”

“I’m not sure where they went, except maybe the cemetery? Anyway, it was fun chasing spooky voodoo for a while.”

The sad truth is that it sounds like the Night People are just going to leave until they can disappear, which is a shame because it would have been a cool idea to stumble upon some sort of base camp.

I assume that the night people only inhabit the various huts that can be found throughout the swamp and bayou areas.

Still, that didn’t make me feel any better about these creepy guys. In fact, their constant shooting at us players may have made us feel even worse.
