Clermont man killed in two-vehicle crash in Lake County, FHP says

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A 52-year-old Clermont man was killed in a crash in Lake County early Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Schofield Road, west of Five Mile Road, around 6:30 a.m.

According to a preliminary accident report from FHP, the Clermont man was driving a 2018 Nissan Maxima that collided with a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 39-year-old Orlando man.

The Clermont man was pronounced dead at the scene and the Orlando man was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, the report said.

FHP is still investigating.
