3 men arrested for coordinating Atlanta street race, more arrests expected – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA – Atlanta police say they have arrested three men in connection with street racing that officers say they coordinated.

According to police, officers from the Atlanta Police Department’s Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit responded to numerous calls about street rage throughout Atlanta throughout the weekend.

Police arrested 24-year-old Treyon Izell Hamilton-Coleman of Riverdale, 22-year-old Jaquez Antonio Smith of Locust Grove and 20-year-old Tyrik Ponder of Hampton for promoting or organizing a street race, according to Police Chief Darin Schierbaum.

According to police, a man named Montrez Nasir Carter of McDonough fled the scene and a warrant was issued for his arrest on suspicion of promoting or organizing a street race.

“If you promote or organize street racing in the city of Atlanta, we will track you down, establish your identity and put you in jail,” said Police Chief Schierbaum.
