Canton firefighter charged with distributing sexual material involving children

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A Canton firefighter has been charged with multiple counts of distributing sexual materials involving minors.

According to Summit County court documents, 21-year-old Mason Molina is charged with three counts of facilitating sexually motivated conduct of a minor or disabled person.

According to court documents, he was arraigned on those charges on Tuesday.

19 News contacted the Canton Fire Department and confirmed that Molina was employed by the Canton Fire Department.

A video on the Canton Fire Department’s Facebook page shows Molina’s swearing-in on May 18, 2021.

However, division chief Steve Henderson said Molina had submitted his resignation.

According to court documents, the charges were originally filed on April 26.

On Tuesday, Molina’s bail was set at $5,000, with the condition that Molina not use the Internet while in custody.

He must appear in court again for his preliminary hearing on July 9.
