A man was shot and killed in a San Gabriel residence early Saturday morning, June 8. Detectives are currently working to identify and locate the suspect, authorities said.

San Gabriel police were called to the 100 block of Walnut Grove Avenue, just south of Las Tunas Drive, shortly after 1:35 a.m. and found the victim unconscious next to a stairwell when they arrived, said Lt. Omar Camacho of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which took over the investigation.

The man was shot multiple times and taken to a hospital where he died, Camacho said.

Further information was not immediately available and the victim’s name has not been released publicly pending notification of his family.

Video obtained by RMG News showed San Gabriel police investigating the driveway of an apartment complex. The building has interior stairs leading from the parking lots to the upper apartments. Crime scene markers were seen on the street and in the driveway.
