Nina Dobrev undergoes “successful” surgery after bicycle accident; thanks fans for “nice messages”

Nina Dobrev is keeping her fans and well-wishers updated on her recovery journey following a serious e-bike accident she was involved in last month. The former Vampire Diaries artist shared on Instagram on Wednesday, June 5, that her “surgery was a success.”

“Thank you to everyone who has sent kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes,” she continued in her social media post. “I’ve felt the support and positive energy. This means more to me than you will ever know.” Before ending her message, Dobrev also joked that she has a great fear of “needles, blood, or procedures of any kind.”

The pictures accompanying Nina’s caption above showed her wearing a blue hospital gown while lying in a hospital bed.

What do we know about Nina Dobrev’s accident?

Dobrev, who first announced on May 20 that she was hospitalized for an e-bike accident, has largely kept the details of the mishap under wraps, except for an Instagram post on the above date that showed herself first on a bike and then on a hospital bed. “How it started vs. how it continues,” she captioned the post.

Following her update, several celebrities, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Zooey Deschanel and others, sent her their well wishes in the comments.

The 35-year-old actress recently shared more photos of her leg injury and her ongoing recovery process.

“Life’s been looking a little different lately,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, June 2, humorously adding, “Get ready for leg content because that’s all I have in my camera roll right now.”

In her Instagram stories before her surgery, the “Maybe Tomorrow” actress also joked about capturing her “flawless” leg before it is completely scarred.

Nina Dobrev received special care and love from her boyfriend Shaun White during her difficult time

“We all love you,” White wrote in the comments section of Nina’s Instagram post. The Olympian has been by the actress’s side throughout her recovery and even danced in TVD merchandise to cheer his friend up.

The couple has now been together for four years.
