Same man charged in two counts of sexual assault in Rochester

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – A Rochester man has been charged in two separate cases of sexual assault.

Charges in both cases were filed Tuesday in Olmsted District Court. One of the alleged sexual assaults occurred in April and the other case was opened last year.

The defendant in both cases is identified in the court records as follows: 25-year-old Adam Alrashid Hussein.

In the April case, Hussein is accused of raping a woman he met at a bar. On April 29, the woman reported the alleged rape to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office.

She said she met Hussein at a bar in Rochester on the evening of April 27 and went to a house party with Hussein and a group of other people after the bar closed.

She said Hussein then drove her to her home in Byron around 4 a.m. because she was drunk, the charges say. Hussein allegedly went into the house with her and raped her.

Hussein told an investigator he was with the woman and “attempted to get things started sexually,” the indictment says. The Rochester man denied raping the woman.

He was charged with first, third and fifth degree sexual abuse.

The other sexual assault allegedly committed by Hussein was reported to Rochester police last September. The victim in that case said she knew Hussein and met him at a bar in Rochester.

When the bar closed, Hussein jumped into the car with her to drive to a party at a friend’s house. Hussein tried to catch the two of them alone in the bar and at the house party, the complaint says.

The woman told police she then drove Hussein home and he repeatedly tried to grab her and kiss her. She also said Hussein leaned toward the driver’s side of the vehicle and tried to grope the victim while attempting to kiss her.

She said Hussein then got out of the car, walked to the driver’s side and began kissing her and biting her neck, the charges say. Hussein denied trying to kiss the woman and groping her.

He is charged with fourth-degree sexual abuse, fifth-degree sexual abuse and fifth-degree assault.

Hussein is scheduled to appear in court for the first time in both cases next month.
