Shock in Tamil Nadu: Minor girl eight months pregnant after being blackmailed and raped multiple times within a year, two people arrested

Chennai, June 4: In a disturbing incident, a Class 9 student in Madipakkam, Tamil Nadu was repeatedly raped and impregnated by two youths. The case came to light after the victim complained of abdominal pain and was admitted to the hospital. On examination, doctors found that she was eight months pregnant. The victim then narrated the harrowing details, after which her parents filed a complaint against the duo.

According to a report by the time of IndiaThe 14-year-old victim, along with her family, had visited the 20-year-old accused, identified as Abhishek, at his residence in Madipakkam. Abhishek was an acquaintance of the family there before they shifted. The victim had used the toilet in the accused’s residence on the day of her visit without knowing about a hidden camera. The accused had recorded the video of the unsuspecting victim and subsequently used the video to blackmail her. According to the report, the accused used the video to pressure the victim to fulfill his condition and raped her. Later, the accused showed the video to his 19-year-old friend Nithesh, who along with Abhishek lured and raped her in the absence of her parents, as reported the Hindu. Both the accused had raped the minor victim several times before she moved with her family. When her pregnancy came to light, the victim’s family filed a complaint against the accused with the Madipakkam police. The duo were charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and were arrested by an all-women team on Sunday, June 2, on charges of rape and blackmailing the minors.
