House fire in Wicomico County under investigation | Latest News

SALISBURY, MD – The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a single-family home fire that occurred Saturday evening in Salisbury.

The fire occurred around 6:20 p.m. 26914 Pratt Road in Salisbury. Officials said the fire, which started on the back patio of the home, was discovered by a neighbor.

According to the state fire department, it took about 35 firefighters 30 minutes to bring the incident under control.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office said a 25-year-old firefighter was injured. His injuries were not life-threatening and he was taken to Tidal Health.

According to authorities, the fire caused $75,000 in damage to the building and $25,000 in damage to the contents.

The preliminary cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
