LATEST FORECAST

Here’s WAVE News Chief Meteorologist Kevin Harned with your forecast.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The severe weather threat will end around 2 a.m. this evening. Until then, supercell storms and storm lines will move through with damaging winds, hail and tornadoes. There may be multiple warnings at times, so be aware and alert!

Another WAVE weather alert day is in effect on Wednesday, with severe storms on radar between 3 and 10 p.m. Damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes are possible. The highest storm threat could reach southern Kentucky and Tennessee.

Confidence is growing that severe thunderstorms are likely to move south of our counties during the late hours of Wednesday night, bringing us some heavy rain and downpours into early Thursday morning. Lows will be in the 60s.

Any remaining showers that are on the radar early Thursday morning will pass shortly after sunrise, giving us some sun and a small chance of a shower Thursday afternoon. Highs will reach the 70s on Thursday.

Friday will look mostly dry and cooler, with highs in the 60s, but the chance of showers will increase again Saturday as another cold front moves in from the north. This gives us a quiet start to the next week on Mother’s Day. Warmer air returns just in time for Tuesday with highs in the 80s
