Four people arrested for weapons offenses after attack

Two teenagers and a 12-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with the intent to instill fear of violence after a teenager was attacked.

The victim was attacked at The Oaks in Newbury, Berkshire, at around 6.14pm BST on Tuesday, Thames Valley Police said.

He was not injured, police said.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested after the attack. He is accused of carrying a knife and an imitation firearm in a public place in order to incite fear of violence.

The four people arrested, aged 12, 17, 18 and 20, all from Newbury, were released on bail until August 8.

Det Con Izzy Dennis said investigations were ongoing, adding: “I would like to reassure the public that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident and there is no danger to the general public.”
