Winchester man sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual assault

LITCHFIELD, Connecticut (WTNH) — Michael Mansfield, 65, of Winchester, was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison, followed by 15 years of probation, after being found guilty of sexual assault and endangering minors.

According to David Shannon, the district attorney for the Litchfield Judicial District, Mansfield was also required to register with the Connecticut State Sex Offender Registry.


On March 27, a jury found Mansfield guilty of one count of first-degree and fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of endangering minors.

According to evidence presented during the three-day trial, Mansfield sexually abused a female victim in his home over a four-year period between 2012 and 2016. During that time, the victim was between the ages of 7 and 11.
