1 person taken into custody after unknown police incident in northern Dauphin County

One person was taken into custody in northern Dauphin County, according to a Pennsylvania State Police spokesman.

Earlier Thursday, Pennsylvania State Police asked the public to avoid an area on Elmer Avenue in Halifax Township in northern Dauphin County due to an unknown police operation. The area is located a few miles south of Millersburg, near Route 147, which runs parallel to the Susquehanna River.

Police said the area was reopened.
