Suspect arrested after hit-and-run in Broken Arrow

By John Dobberstein, Editor

The suspect involved in a car-versus-pedestrian incident Tuesday was arrested and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and hit-and-run causing personal injury, Broken Arrow police said.

Because the suspect is a minor, police say only limited information will be released.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the parking lot of Slim Chickens, 1100 E. Hillside Drive. Shortly afterward, police released a still photo of the suspect’s vehicle taken from inside the restaurant.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had intentionally driven his vehicle toward the victim, eventually hitting him and trapping him between his truck and his own vehicle.

It appears that this incident was the result of aggressive intercourse between two strangers, said Ethan Hutchins, BAPD public information coordinator. The victim is still in critical condition in the hospital.

Broken Arrow Police thanked the public for their collaborative efforts in sharing information about the case.
