“Draymond Green’s ‘First Thoughts’ on Nuggets Discussion About Jamal Murray”

Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green hasn’t been shy about voicing his opinions during his time in the NBA, and now Nuggets star Jamal Murray has caught his attention.

Murray drew the ire of fans after he “dangerously” threw a heat pack onto the court following the Nuggets’ Game 2 loss. Green had a tough hit against Timberwolves center Rudy Gay, who missed the team’s second game.

On Tuesday, Green visited the “Draymond Green Show” on YouTube to share his “first thoughts” on the Nuggets’ suspension conversation.

Green calls Murray heat pack throw ‘dangerous’

Green didn’t hold back when sharing his honest thoughts on the situation. He said he noticed many people online calling for Murray to be suspended and said his first thought was that he didn’t think Murray would be suspended. From then on, Green began to think more deeply about the situation.

“I was just online and I see people saying, ‘Oh, Jamal Murray is probably going to get suspended for throwing the heat pack,” Green said of the Nuggets star.

“I mean, I didn’t think he would be suspended, even though it was very dangerous. Someone steps on it, A, it leaves a wet spot. B, it can really upset someone. But I didn’t see that and my first thought wasn’t, ‘Ah, he’s getting suspended.'”

Tuesday’s rumor mill brought information that the latest tea leaves suggest Murray will likely be fined but not suspended. Green called it “crazy” that online readers were quick to call for bans. The Nuggets point guard made two game-winning shots against the Lakers in round one, and Murray’s team needs his heroics now more than ever.

“It’s crazy how people automatically call for suspensions these days,” Green said. “I just don’t really understand it. But when I say that, man, Denver is in a bad place right now.”

Game three a chance at Nuggets redemption

The Nuggets are in dire straits heading into Game 3 in Minnesota, trailing by two games. Murray was stifled, harassed and pressured into an eight-point performance in the second game.

The Nuggets and coach Mike Malone need a stronger performance heading into Friday’s Game 3 at Target Center, especially since Anthony Edwards has drawn comparisons to Michael Jordan lately. Anthony Edwards scored 27 points in the teams’ last game, displacing Karl-Anthony Towns as the league leader for coach Chris Finch’s Timberwolves.

On Monday, NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley predicted a Timberwolves win. With Murray likely to avoid a suspension, the defending champion Nuggets still have life for now and a chance to win their first game of the series this weekend.
