Norris receives penalty from Monaco’s race management after investigations against Russell

Lando Norris received a reprimand from the stewards of the Monaco Grand Prix following an incident with George Russell during training.

As he exited the tunnel, Norris was on a fast lap with Russell on a cool-down track, with Norris aborting his lap because he felt he was blocked.

After Norris aborted the attempt, he walked over and almost collided with Russell to “express his displeasure,” according to race officials.

Although race officials considered the action to be “not dangerous,” they felt that “this type of action could potentially lead to a dangerous situation” and should therefore be avoided.

Norris was subsequently reprimanded because no further action was taken against Russell.

World champion Max Verstappen was also summoned by the stewards, again for an alleged violation of Article 33.4 of the sporting regulations because he drove unnecessarily slowly – for which he received no penalty, however.
