An armed robbery investigation is ongoing in the unincorporated city of Redwood City

REDWOOD CITY – Authorities say an investigation is underway into an armed robbery outside a gas station in unincorporated Redwood City on Tuesday afternoon.

Two people were standing outside an ARCO gas station in the 1800 block of Woodside Road around 4:15 p.m. when two men approached them and robbed them of their belongings, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

According to the sheriff’s office, the men made criminal threats and displayed a handgun during the robbery.

No injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office described the men as being in their early 20s and having long hair. One had a small mustache.

The men were last seen walking toward Santa Clara Avenue.

The sheriff’s office said the robbery is being investigated as an “isolated incident.”
