Mother’s Day starts out gloomy and rainy, with occasional showers until Sunday morning. The weather improves somewhat as the afternoon progresses as conditions slowly dry out.

Nevertheless, clouds remain and temperatures remain cool. High temperatures will only be in the mid-50s, about 15 degrees below average. If we’re lucky, we’ll see a few rays of sunshine in the early evening.

The sky will be partly cloudy this evening, with minimum temperatures over 40°C overnight – very cool for May.

Monday will bring a nice respite as temperatures climb back into the upper 60s and near 70! We can’t rule out a patchy shower in the north, but overall it’s just a mix of sun and clouds.

It will be even warmer on Tuesday before the next risk of rain arises in the evening and Wednesday.
