Louisville police are investigating after a man was struck by three vehicles on I-65 near Arthur Street on Monday News from WDRB

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man has died after a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 65 near Arthur Street Monday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police.

According to LMPD, a man was driving from Arthur Street onto southbound I-65 around 1:30 a.m. after climbing over a guardrail. He was standing on the side of the road when he was struck by a light-colored pickup truck traveling south. The police don’t know the make, model or truck.

LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis said the man was thrown to the ground after being struck by the truck. The truck did not stop or render assistance.

According to police, the man was struck a short time later by two other vehicles traveling southbound on I-65. Neither of the two vehicles that hit the man stopped.

Ellis said the man wasn’t discovered until a 911 call was reported at 9:15 a.m

The LMPD Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.

The man has not been identified.
