1 Player From Every Eliminated Team The Houston Rockets Should Watch

Misery loves company.

The Houston Rockets missed the playoffs this year. Now they have a new company. The first round of the playoffs is over. Several teams have joined the Rockets in Cancun, or their favorite travel destination.

A first-round elimination doesn’t always breed confidence. Some of these teams will make significant strides this offseason. For an up-and-coming team like the Rockets, this may represent an opportunity to make key acquisitions.

After all, not every team in his cohort is in the same situation. A team that had bigger ambitions than those in the first round could be a seller. On the other hand, the Rockets are on an upward trajectory – they could be buyers this summer.

Here’s a player from each team eliminated in the playoffs that we think we can take a look at.

We were tempted to get cute here and name GIannis Antetokoumnpo. If he requests a trade, every team with assets should consider bringing him in, including the Rockets.

Let’s ground ourselves a little here. We’ll assume Antetokoumnpo stays put. Malik Beasley is set to hit free agency this summer. He shot 41.3% from long range this year and is a solid defender. He would make a perfect backup goalie for this team.
