Woman attacked after leaving bar in Clovis, police looking for man posing as Uber driver

Clovis police are releasing new details about an alleged sexual assault case that occurred less than two weeks ago.

Clovis police say they have now identified the man accused of sexually assaulting a woman as she left a bar in Old Town Clovis as 27-year-old Bikramjit Singh.

He is wanted for kidnapping and rape on April 21st.

According to investigators, the company received a call that day from a man who said he saw his wife being picked up by an unknown man in a light-colored SUV around 2:50 a.m

During their investigation, it was discovered that the woman got into the front seat of the SUV and drove away.

According to police, the woman was taken to a home in Fresno and sexually assaulted.

The suspect then took her near her home and she walked home.

Police confirm no one requested a ride.

They say the suspect observed people leaving the bar and posed as an Uber driver.

Officers also say he used his roommate’s vehicle and removed the license plates to commit the crime.

“Singh is a long-haul truck driver who drives across the United States. “He mentioned to the victim that he had committed similar acts in the past,” the Clovis police wanted flyer said.

A FOX26 News team went to the address where Singh lives.

One of his roommates didn’t want to go on camera but said they were surprised to hear about the incident as they never expected it from him.

They said he was a good guy and mentioned that he had only lived in the house for about a month and had not returned to the house.

The relationship between them is unknown, only that they were roommates from what a FOX26 team understands.
