Breaking the silence about sexual abuse

SEXUAL abuse is an abomination. And although there are laws criminalising this abuse in many different forms, it is still prevalent among us. Even wealthy societies with well-educated and informed citizens have not been able to eradicate the scourge of sexual violence.

The problem with sexual abuse is that victims often feel so ashamed that they remain silent about their ordeal. They blame themselves. Some victims even think that sexual harassment or exploitation is normal or commonplace and not a crime that needs to be reported to the authorities.
