Warning day on Monday due to heat. Hot days ahead. Changes coming at the end of the week.

WE WERE AROUND THE AVERAGE. THAT’S 35 GRAMS IN THE END OF JULY, MID-JULY. TODAY WE’RE GOING UP AND WE’RE GOING TO FEEL THAT DIFFERENCE. ALL OF US IN THE REGION ARE PREPARING FOR A HOT DAY TODAY, ESPECIALLY FROM THE DELTA TO THE VALLEY. WE’RE EXPECTING A RANGE OF 102 TO 108 GRAMS FOR THIS DAILY HIGH. THE WINDS WILL BE PRETTY LIGHT AS WELL. KEEP IN MIND, ON A DAY LIKE THIS THE FIRE DANGER IS ALSO INCREASED. EVEN OVER THE WEEKEND WE HAD SOME NEW FOREST FIRES AND PLANT FIRES AND WE HAD THAT HEAT, ESPECIALLY ON SATURDAY. YESTERDAY IT WAS MORE LIKE OVER 30 GRIMS, AND WE STILL HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH A MILD WEATHER TONIGHT, AND NOW LOOKING AT THE VALLEY FLOOR, HERE’S THE VIEW FROM 555 CAPITOL MALL. WE’RE WATCHING THE SUNRISE. AND YOU’LL NOTICE WE HAVE A SLIGHTLY HASY AIR MASS OUT THERE. TEMPERATURES ARE RIGHT IN THE LOWEST 60 GRIMS. AIR QUALITY IS GENERALLY GOOD TO MODERATE. WE’RE FORECASTING TEMPERATURES TO GET CLOSE TO 70 GRIMS BY 8 AM THIS MORNING. SO IF YOU STAY UNTIL, LET’S SAY, AFTER NOON, WE’RE GOING TO FEEL THOSE FEET, THAT HEAT, WITH THOSE TEMPERATURES GOING BACK OVER 100 DEGREES, STARTING ABOUT 2 P.M. WHEN WE LOOK AT THE VIEW HERE FROM COLFAX. GOOD MORNING, PLACER COUNTY. YOU’RE ALSO GOING TO ENJOY DARK SKIES AND TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 20S. BY NOON WE’RE GOING TO GET TO THE LOW 90S, AND TEMPERATURES WILL GO TO GET OVER 90S BY 2 TO 3 P.M. IN MOST AREAS IN THE FOOTHILLS, TEMPERATURES WILL GET OVER 90 DEGREES TO ABOUT 100 DEGREES. AND HERE’S THE VIEW FROM TAHOE, AND THIS IS FROM THE PIONEER TRAIL HERE ALONG HIGHWAY 50. WE’RE STILL IN THE MID-50S. JUST ABOUT. AT 11 AM WE’RE FORECASTING JUST LOWER 80S AND WE’LL SEE MORE CLOUDS. THEY’LL WARM UP ALONG THE RIDGE OF THE SIERRA. THIS AFTERNOON, WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE OVER 80S. OF COURSE, TODAY IS WARMING DAY, BECAUSE OF THE HEAT, ANOTHER ONE IS EXPECTED TOMORROW. MID-WEEK WE’LL GET MORE OF A LAND BREAK THAT SHOULD PULL US DOWN TO THE 90S, ESPECIALLY TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE ALL THAT HEAT AGAIN. IT’S MOVING TOWARDS THE WEST COAST AND EVEN UP ALONG THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. WHILE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY IS HAVING A BREAK IN THE HEAT, WE’LL BE FEELING THAT HEAT FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS THIS HIGH PRESSURE AREA BUILDS UP FROM THE FOUR CORNERS. NOTE THAT TOMORROW IT WILL BE RIGHT OVER US. SO WE’RE EXPECTING THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE WEEK FOR YOUR TUESDAY. THEN WHEN YOU LOOK TOWARDS WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, NOTE THAT PATTERN CHANGES AS THAT RIDGE MOVES EAST. THAT ALLOWS THAT AREA TO MOVE NORTH AND THAT INCREASES OUR DELTA BREEZE AND DROPS OUR TEMPERATURES. SO BEAR PATIENCE WITH ME AND HANG THROUGH IT. WE HAVE A HOT DAY TODAY. TOMORROW IT’S ANOTHER HOT DAY. THAT’S KIND OF THE GRAND FINALE, IF YOU WILL. ON WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, TEMPERATURES WILL SLOWLY FALL BACK TO BELOW 105.
