According to Hilir Perak police, four youths from Teluk Intan suspected of raping an 11-year-old girl have been released on bail

IPOH: Four boys arrested for allegedly repeatedly raping an 11-year-old girl near Teluk Intan have been released on bail.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the four individuals, aged between 14 and 17, were released on Sunday, July 23, after completing their three-day remand period.

“The investigation documents will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for further instructions,” he said, adding that juveniles should not be kept in custody for more than seven days.

“If we get the green light from the prosecutor’s office, we will file charges,” he said today (July 22) when contacted.

Last Thursday (July 18), a report was filed against four boys at the Langkap Police Station over the alleged incident.

The victim, a student at a Teluk Intan school, claimed that two of the boys, aged 16 and 14, took turns raping her in a car at around 6.30pm on July 17 after taking them to a waterfall.

The third perpetrator, a 17-year-old, is said to have raped her on July 18 at around 8:30 p.m. when she followed him home.

The fourth person, also 17, was suspected of raping the victim in the bushes during an outing on July 18 at around 12:30 a.m.

ACP Ahmad Adanan said all four teenagers from Teluk Intan admitted to the crime.

“The first and third suspects, aged 16 and 17, do not attend school, while the second and fourth suspects, aged 14 and 17, still attend school.
