Former Tulsa County juvenile corrections officer worked at BAPS despite sexual abuse allegations | News

TULSA, Oklahoma – FOX23 has learned new details about the case against one of the two men currently accused of sexually abusing juveniles while working as juvenile corrections officers at the Tulsa County Family Center for Juvenile Justice (FCJJ).

FOX23 reported on the TCSO’s arrest of Dquan Doyle on charges of sexual misconduct while serving as a juvenile corrections officer at the Tulsa County Juvenile Correctional Center.

Doyle and another former juvenile corrections officer, Jonathan Hines, were arrested a month apart after allegations surfaced ranging from sexual abuse to smuggling drugs into the prison.

On Wednesday, FOX23 confirmed that Doyle also worked at Broken Arrow Public Schools (BAPS) and left the school system shortly before his arrest in Tulsa County.

Doyle was hired by the Broken Arrow public school system in August 2023, months after leaving Tulsa County while under investigation for child abuse at FCJJ.

District spokeswoman Tara Thompson texted FOX23 about Doyle’s work at BAPS.

“This gentleman worked as an assistant at BAPS for a short time,” she said. “Employment date August 16, 2023 to April 24, 2024.”

Local attorney Chris Brecht and a team of attorneys from Smolen Law are currently representing 20 children who claim they were abused while incarcerated at FCJJ.

“His employment at the juvenile correctional center ended and the fact that he was able to become an employee of a public school system there and have access to these children is incredibly concerning,” he said.

“I don’t even think he would have been allowed to roam the streets freely, let alone apply for a job in Broken Arrow,” Brecht said.

Brecht said the allegations against Doyle should have been reported to the Department of Human Services.

“If these had been properly disclosed, he would never have had the opportunity,” he said.

FOX23 also reached out to Broken Arrow police, who said the investigation is ongoing but could not comment further.
