Murder investigation into dead woman in Sacramento

Homicide investigation underway after woman found dead near Loaves & Fishes, Sacramento police say

CHOICE. BUT WE START OUR HALF HOUR AT 9:30 WITH BREAKING NEWS FROM SACRAMENTO. POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE DEATH OF A WOMAN. THIS ALL HAPPENED ON NORTH 12TH STREET AND NORTH C STREET IN SACRAMENTO. LET’S GO TO KCRA 3. MIKE IS GOING INTO THE CELL AND IS GOING TO LOOK AT THE CRIME SCENE. YES. AND JUST A FEW MOMENTS AGO THE SECOND POLICE BREAK HAS UPDATED OFFICIAL INFORMATION ON WHAT HAPPENED HERE BEHIND ME. LET ME JUST DESCRIBE THE SCENE BRIEFLY BECAUSE WE’RE STANDING AT NORTH 12TH STREET AND SWALLOWTAIL AVENUE APPROACHING LOAVES AND FISHES AND NORTH B STREET AND YOU CAN SEE THE LINE OF POLICE VEHICLES ALL PART OF THIS INVESTIGATION IN THE EYE. BUT I WANT TO GIVE YOU A DIFFERENT VIEWPOINT BECAUSE THE VIEW OF THE SCENE IS HIDDEN IN THE EYE. BUT LOOK AT SOME VIDEO WE TAKED WHEN WE ARRIVED HERE AND WE’LL SHOW YOU THE AREA ALONG THE SIDEWALK AND THE FENCE JUST IN FRONT OF THE LOAVES AND FISHES COMPLEX WHERE THIS INVESTIGATION BEGAN. THIS IS THE LOCATION WHERE SOCORRO POLICE SAID THEY RESPONDED TO REPORTS OF A BATTLE AT 6 AM. WHEN THEY ARRIVED HERE THEY FOUND A DEAD ADULT FEMALE AT THE SCENE. POLICE SAY THAT’S PRETTY MUCH OF ALL THE INFORMATION THEY CAN CONFIRM AT THIS POINT. AT THIS POINT THEY HAVE NO SUSPECTS OR SUSPECTS. DESCRIPTION. AND THEY ARE NOT SURE WHY THIS BATTLE BROKE OUT, WHAT MAY HAVE BEEN THE MOTIVATION FOR THE BATTLE. AND THEY ALSO SAY, UH, YOU KNOW, THEY’RE INVESTIGATING WHETHER OR NOT THIS WAS A HOMELESS VICTIM, A HOMELESS SUSPECT, AND WHETHER ANY OF THEM WERE ASSOCIATED WITH LOAVES AND FISHES AT THE TIME OF THIS OCCURRING. SO COME BACK HERE LIVE, AND THE BIGGEST IMPACT FOR VIEWERS RIGHT NOW IS FOR THE COMMUTERS OR FOR ANYONE WHO HAS TO GET DOWNTOWN THROUGH 160 AND THEN, UH, NORTH 12TH STREET, BECAUSE YOU CAN JUST SEE IT’S BLOCKED BY ALL THE POLICE ACTIVITY. AND THESE ONGOING INVESTIGATIONS. THE CRIME SCENE STARTS WHERE SUNBEAM AND AHERN CROSS 12TH STREET, SO IF YOU GET OVER 160, THERE WILL BE A MAJOR JAM AND YOU WILL HAVE TO DECIDE THE ROUTE IMMEDIATELY ANYWAY. SO THE BEST ADVICE FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDS TO GO DOWNTOWN IS TO AVOID 160. STAY ON BIZ 80 AND THEN EXIT AT 29 30TH OR W/X, DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU FINALLY GO OR IF YOU GET THAT FAR. ALTA ARDEN OR AT WORST RICHARD’S BOULEVARD TO GET YOU AWAY FROM THAT SCENE BECAUSE RIGHT NOW, EVEN AT THIS TIME, THERE IS STILL SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC CONGESTION. 160 Because of this ongoing investigation, police say they will be, at least in their words, quote, live on North 12th Street here in Sacramento for the next couple of hours. Mike Teselle, KCRA Three News. Mike, thanks so much for the live update. And folks at home, we’ll be following this story throughout the day as it develops. Here’s where you’ll find the latest news straight to your phone. Even when we’re not live on the air, just download.
