Mother denies sexual assault on children

As he fought back tears, a London, Ontario. The mother denied sexually assaulting or harming her children while continuing to testify in her own defense.

The 54-year-old took the witness stand for the second time in a row on Thursday. At times she became emotional when talking about her children who had testified against her.

At one point her lawyer Phil Millar asked her: “Are you a pedophile?”

She replied, “No. Everything that was said was not true, I would never have done that. I would have done anything to protect her.”

When asked if she ever sexually abused her children when they were young or adult, she replied: “No. I don’t know how to say no so many times.”

She added: “I have never raped anyone and I could not have done that.”

The woman and her estranged husband face more than 40 charges, including sexual assault with a weapon, incest and forcible confinement.

The incidents are said to have occurred between 2003 and 2020.

Each of them pleaded not guilty.

The jury in the trial, now in its fifth week, heard disturbing testimony from the children, who are now adults.

When the mother was asked if she ever locked her children in a confined space, she replied, “I have never locked anyone in a closet or any other place.”

Her testimony will continue when the trial resumes next week.
