Butts County missing person case becomes murder investigation after body found | News

It was posted on the BCSO Facebook page on Monday that 25-year-old Taylor Coup had been reported missing. He was last seen at Shawn O’Brian’s Roadhouse on Highway 36 East around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning.

John Jacob Martin, 24, “was arrested and is currently being held in the Butts County Jail pending charges for the murder of Taylor Coup,” Long also posted.

The sheriff asked the community to remember and pray for Coup’s family and friends.

He also praised his deputies for their efforts to track down Coup.

“I would like to publicly thank my deputies for their tireless efforts in finding Taylor and seeking justice for such a senseless crime.”

Long said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact Lt. Matt Munger at (770) 775-8216.
