Suspected drunk driver arrested after rollover crash near Los Banos | YourCentralValley.com

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 25-year-old woman suspected of driving under the influence was arrested following a rollover crash near Los Banos on Monday, the California Highway Patrol said.

According to the CHP, officers responded to a crash on Highway 152 around 8:30 p.m.


Investigators say a driver of a 2013 Nissan Frontier was traveling westbound on Highway 152 west of Lodi Road at 50 mph. According to investigators, Elizabeth Garibay was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry westbound on Highway 152 west of Lodi Road at an unknown speed and attempted to pass the Nissan.

According to the CHP, Garibay drove the front of the Toyota into the rear of the Nissan, causing the Nissan to lose control, travel off the north shoulder of the road and roll over on its left side into an irrigation ditch. The Toyota left the roadway and came to rest in the median.

According to the CHP, two children in the Toyota were not properly restrained and sustained injuries. Both youths, ages 8 and 4, were taken to Valley Children’s Hospital.

Garibay was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, officials say.
