Investigation into unidentified dead person found at Mirror Lake in Albany County continues

CASPER, Wyoming – Authorities are investigating the death of an unidentified person near Mirror Lake in Albany County during the Fourth of July holiday.

According to a news release from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were called after a dead person was found in the Mirror Lake day-use area late Thursday, July 4. The area and parts of Highway 130 were closed to the public for most of the following day while emergency responders investigated the scene.

According to the press release, there is no information about the person and the cause of death has not yet been determined. There is also no immediate danger to the public, it said.

The investigation into this case is being conducted by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Division. The Laramie Police Department assisted with traffic control during the investigation, it was reported.

More information will be released as it becomes available. “We are saddened by this unfortunate discovery, but we remain committed to finding a solution and providing closure to the affected family,” they said.
