First Alert weather warning for record heat in Coachella Valley

A level one weather warning is in effect for today and tomorrow as temperatures across the lowlands reach record highs this morning and afternoon. The lack of relief overnight can put stress on our bodies and lead to an increased risk of heat-related illness.

The heat warning is in effect for the entire Coachella Valley until Wednesday, July 10. High temperatures will repeatedly exceed 120°, contributing to the “high” and “extreme” heat risk in the desert.

More records will be broken on Saturday. The previous record for this date is 117°F, but if the humidity eases in the afternoon, Palm Springs will likely top that. Monday is another day with record potential.
