Former YSRCP MP from Kodumuru constituency Jaradoddi Sudhakar was arrested by police on Thursday for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl for the past three years. Telugu television reported.

The minor girl and her parents filed a complaint at Kurnool city police station, following which the police registered the case and arrested the former MP from his residence.

In her complaint, the girl said, “My parents worked in MLA Sudhakar’s house. I accompanied them to work every day and he sexually harassed me. When his wife was not at home, he tortured me mentally and physically and showed me obscene pictures. One day, I secretly recorded the harassment on my mobile phone to reveal his true face, but I was too afraid to make it public.”

In her complaint, she further stated that the former MP had sexually harassed her for nearly three years until last November.

He was arrested under Section 6 r/w 5(L) of the POCSO Act and Section 376 of the BNS and remanded in District Jail for 14 days.

The victim was taken to Kurnool Government Hospital for medical examination.

Two months ago, a video of the abuse circulated online, but no details of the case were known and the victim did not come forward to file a complaint. At the time, he reportedly threatened the victim and her parents not to talk about the issue, preventing the matter from coming to light.
