Toronto police search for suspect who committed sexual assault and allegedly removed ankle bracelet

A 29-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a woman he followed into a public restroom at a North York library allegedly removed the ankle monitor he was required to wear upon his release from custody.

Toronto Police are currently searching for Arnold Edzodzomo, who is wanted on two counts of failure to comply with an arrest warrant.

He is said to have removed the device on Wednesday evening in the area of ​​Lawrence Avenue West and Allen Road.

Edzodzomo was initially arrested last month in connection with two separate cases.

In the first case, he is said to have repeatedly approached and followed a woman on the hiking trails in Earl Bales Public Park between April 28 and May 9.

Edzodzomo also reportedly waited for the victim outside a public toilet before following her and chasing her several times.

The two did not know each other, police said.

The other incident occurred on June 12 in the area of ​​Lawrence Avenue West and Bathurst Street.

Edzodzomo allegedly followed a woman into a public restroom at the Barbara Frum Public Library and sexually assaulted her.

According to police, an employee was able to help the victim and take him to a safe place. Edzodzomo, meanwhile, fled but was arrested later that day.

He was accused of harassment and sexual abuse.

According to police, Edzodzomo was released from custody on the condition that he wear an ankle bracelet.

Described as slim with short black hair, he is known to frequent Ear Bales Park, the Barbara Frum Library, and the Bathurst, Lawrence, and Yonge and Sheppard neighbourhoods.
