Missing boater found dead after being thrown from boat near Howard Frankland Bridge

TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – The body of a missing boater has been found following a boating accident in Hillsborough County, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed.

According to official information, the accident occurred on Wednesday morning around 4 a.m.

According to preliminary information, a 20-foot-long vessel with two passengers on board collided with a barge and one of the passengers fell into the water.

One occupant was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries and the other occupant, Jonathan Boucvalt, was recovered from the water and pronounced dead as a result of the incident.

“All members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission wish to express our sincere condolences to the victim’s family and friends,” the FWC said in a statement.

This is an active investigation and the FWC will be the lead agency for the ongoing investigation.
