It happened shortly after 9 p.m. on the Hardy Access Road near Tidwell, where, according to Houston police, an unidentified man was driving a truck speeding and repeatedly swerving in the traffic situation.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, it appeared the driver had somehow veered off the road and struck a brick mailbox and then a power line before crashing into the side of a church. CenterPoint Energy was also called to the scene as there were power outages as a result of the accident.
