First Presidential Debate Takes Place in Atlanta – The Presidential Prayer Team

President Biden and former President Trump will answer questions Thursday evening.

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are participating in the first presidential debate of this year’s election cycle. The 90-minute debate is hosted by CNN at 9:00 p.m. EST in Atlanta, Georgia.

During the 2020 election cycle, the two men participated in two presidential debates, although three were scheduled. A debate was canceled when President Trump contracted COVID-19 and refused to attend the debate remotely.

President Biden prepared for the debate with trusted aides at Camp David, the presidential mountainside retreat. This secluded resort of rustic lodges in Maryland has, in the past, helped the president and his team focus before key moments such as State of the Union addresses.

Former President Trump spent his election campaign grooming his advisers and speaking with candidates for his yet-to-be-announced vice presidential post. Most recently, he held a meeting in Philadelphia.

Topics for debate are expected to include border security, the economy and inflation. Independent or other candidates who will appear on the ballot in November did not meet CNN’s qualifications for this debate.

As the Lord guides you, pray with us…

  • For President Biden and President Trump as they prepare for the debate, and for their aides and staff.
  • For Secret Service and first responders responsible for protecting applicants.
  • So that the moderators are impartial and directly ask questions that are important to the people of this country.
  • For Americans watching the debate to pray and be receptive to God’s revelation of His will.
