4 in custody after attack on restaurant staff in Mount Greenwood

CHICAGO – Four people are in custody following an attack on restaurant employees in the city’s south side.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday at Barraco’s Ristorante in the 3000 block of West 111th Street in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood.


According to City Councilor Matt O’Shea, three employees of the restaurant were brutally attacked by the suspects, who then fled the scene and were arrested a short time later.

One of the employees is in stable condition and another was hospitalized in serious condition. The condition of the third employee is currently unknown.

O’Shea said the four perpetrators will face felony charges. The suspects are expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

The city council is asking anyone with video or other information about the attack to contact police.
