Shifty Shellshock of “Crazy Town” and rapper/singer “Butterfly” dies at 49: Variety

(WGHP) — A singer and rapper known for an early 2000s radio hit has died. Various reports.

Seth Binzer, known by his stage name “Shifty Shellshock,” died on Monday at the age of 49. He reportedly died at his home.


Shellshock was part of the nu-metal/rap group Crazy Town, which had a hit in 2001 with the song “Butterfly” from their 1999 album “The Gift of Game”.

The band toured with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in support of their first album. The band changed line-up several times in the 2000s and took a break. They were not on tour until 2023 when a fight broke out in front of a Venue in Myrtle Beach caused controversy.

Shellshock spent much of his life battling addiction.

The cause of death was not immediately available.
