MAFS Australia’s Eden admits she became conscious of her lips after an accident

Australian Eden Harper from “Married at First Sight” has spoken about how an accident left permanent scars on her face.

As she revealed to Daily Mail Australia, the reality TV star fell on glass in her early twenties.

After the terrible accident, Harper had to undergo surgery. “I had a few cuts, but the most noticeable one was probably the size of a 20 cent coin, from above my nose to above my mouth… And to stitch up the hole, my whole mouth was lifted up, giving me this huge upper lip,” she explained. “It basically killed the muscle in my mouth and blocked any movement in the lower half of my face.”

Unfortunately, Eden says her changed appearance has affected her confidence. She revealed: “My lips are definitely my biggest insecurity and what depresses me the most when I look in the mirror is the scar above my mouth and the lack of movement in my mouth.”

The star also reflected on how she had to learn to accept her new appearance. “I looked in the mirror and thought, I’ll never look the same again and I just had to accept that.”

It sounds like Eden’s accident was pretty painful, but we are so glad that she is now healthy and happy – and can safely share her story with the world.
