One person found dead after drowning accident in Clinton County | 28/22 News

LOCK HAVEN, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— The death of one person was confirmed following a drowning accident on Saturday.

A news release from Lock Haven police said the body of an 18-year-old man was pulled from the Susquehanna River, while a 22-year-old man was rescued but flown to Geisinger Danville in critical condition.


According to authorities, rescue crews were called to Lock Haven City Beach at the corner of Vesper and East Water Streets just before 5 p.m. for reports of two swimmers in the Susquehanna River screaming before going underwater.

The 22-year-old was rescued and transported by a private boat. Rescue efforts for the 18-year-old continued before his body was discovered around 7 p.m., the press release said.

The identities of the two men have not yet been released and authorities say no further information will be released at this time.
