Local Red Cross deploys volunteers to Houston

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The local chapter of the Red Cross has deployed several volunteers to the Houston area to help flood victims.

Many have lost their homes, cars and belongings to the flooding and are turning to shelters for help.


Volunteers will provide food, a comfortable place to sleep and emotional support. .

“It’s important for us to help and provide as much support as possible up there so we can be there for the families and make sure there is enough assistance up there to help with the shelters” , said Kayla Gonzalez, executive director of the American Red Cross South Texas Chapter.
